Taken in one of the halls at Wigan and Leigh College Parson's Walk building for the Wigan Model Railway Exhibition. Date: December 1991. As far as I'm aware, the college premises has never been used since for the exhibition.

Happy days at Parson's Walk. I cannot understand why they moved to the Robin Park Arena. I always enjoyed this great weekend two weeks before Christmas. They have since moved it to summer; and why is still a mystery to me.

I think to be honest, the council/local authority would be glad to get rid of these kinds of events full-stop. If it wasn't for the massive support from enthusiasts/clubs, etc, these events would be a thing of the past, like the real life steam trains themselves.Tthe last time I went to the show was in 2008 at the JJB; I didn't know it has now moved to the summer, I agree it is very strange, shame really as the December show was perfect just before Christmas.

I do remember going to a model exhibition in Leigh around 90/91, but I don't think it had any connection to the Wigan exhibition. I wonder what happened to it?

You will all be glad to here its back to October for 2015 back to the jjb no more summer shows
