If I remember correctly Nigel and Nick McDonald were twins and they went to Wigan Grammar School. Was their father the vicar of St. Marks church round about the same time as this photo was taken
hi michael hoped my late husband bill worsley would have been on your photograph as he was in the boys brigade with you have you any photos with him on hope you are well xx
Hi Peter, Nigel and Nicholas McDonald were brothers but not twins, and their father was the Reverend Gordon James Joseph McDonald, Vicar of St. Mark's Newtown from 1963 to 1980.
I remember the Mc Donald's well, I was at the Grammar School 1962-69, one of them was in our Year. I believe he went off to study Naval Architecture
Hi again Peter, The photograph must have been about 1965, and not 1962, as the Reverend McDonald only became Vicar of St. Marks in 1963 and the Reverend Joe Lister only became Curate of St. Marks in 1964.
Hi Sheila, I will upload and also send you further photos of Bill Worsley - he was my best friend in my early teens and I have fond memories of him becoming friends with you when we were on holiday on the Isle of Man.
Hi Dave Cockrell, Not so sure about either of the McDonalds studying naval architecture.Nick McDonald is now retired after 38 years in teaching (all in Leicester. His brother Nigel is now living in Wincanton, Somerset...he's a vicar after spending his earlier career in the Probation Service. Their father (the ex vicar of St Marks, Newtown spent his final years ) in in Cheltenham. He was well over 90 years old before his death, and was mentally still very bright, though a bit shakey on his feet! Their mother, Muriel McDonald died in 2008 after suffering from alzheimers for a few years. Nick sends his best wishes to anyone who may remember him.
Is this Michael Mason who's mum n dad lived in Reedsmere close and had a dog called bridy. Pamela their daughter lived next door and had two children Jason and Mikala. If so my brother Andrew was friends with Jason.
Hi Michael. Great photograph. Recognised you Sud Abbot abd Derek straight away. Hope you're well
Hi Karen, Yes, my parents did live in Reedsmere Close with Bridie, the Wire Haired Fox Terrier. Pamela, was 70 last FridayI, and Jason & Michaela joined us for a great evening at the Fat Olive Restaurant. I will ask Jason about Andrew.
Kind regards,
Michael
A photo which brings back some good memories of my teenage years in the BB at St Marks! Other names from those years which spring to mind.... David Laithwaite, Philip Jones, Barry Just, Alan Priestley... but my memory isn't what it used to be! My brother Nigel is still living (and working) in Wincanton, Somerset and I'm enjoying retirement in Leicester, where I follow the Leicester Tigers rugby (Union, of course!) and play golf (badly!). Best wishes to all who may remember me.

Michael Hope you see this. Joe Lister was at Ashbourne, Derbyshire for some years and then lived near Matlock. I will put this under St Barnabas also (just in case)
Frank A. Thanks for your comments on the Reverend Joe Lister - he was a very kind man, and always made time for young people at St. Mark's & St. Barnabas. Nigel McDonald (with glasses, sat behind me on the picture), eventually became a Vicar, just like his dad.
