More on the photo 'Cpl McNights Squad' from Margaret Sutton (nee Hurst). Here is his Medal Roll Index Card. No. 5199 L/Cpl James Murphy 1st Bn Irish Guards killed in action 6 May 1915. Buried at Guards Cemetery, Windy Corner, Cuinchy, France, grave no' I.H.26. Born and enlisted in Wigan. Entered the Theatre of War in France 7 March 1915, awarded 1914/15 Star, British War Medal & Victory Medal.

my husband remembers vaguely seeing some medals only one he can remember is a large one thinks it was one given when killed in action thanks for all the info
