This is an old camera that has been in the family for a long time, it was used used to take some of the photos in the Cunliffe People section, I remember using it when I was young. The name is 'PORTRAIT HAWKEYE No2' You might find interest in this Phil!

Very similar to the old Kodak Box Brownie that I took my first photos with, which belonged to my mum.

The Portrait Hawkeye No. 2 box camera. Manufactured by Kodak and introduced in 1930. Called the "Portrait Hawkeye" because it has a built-in close-up lens activated by one of the levers on top of the camera. Harry, it still looks in good condition for it's age.

We had one like this I remember you had to put your hand around the hole at the top to shield the light so you could see the view down the hole.
