Do you recognise this man. It was amongst many old family photo's. I can't and neither can my gran figure out who this is or even who he looks like. Do you?

I can't help with his name but gosh isn't he young. I hope he survived WW1

He does look young. My great granddad was 17 when he joined the Liverpool Scottish in the first world war. He apparently lied about his age so he could join.

Looks like a Manchester Regiment cap badge. Wigan's Territorial unit, B Company 1/5th Battalion were based at the Drill Hall in Powell St. They were Infantry and fought in Gallipoli and on the Western Front in Belgium and France.

My Grandad was in the Manchester Regiment and this soldier looks to have been the same age as him. He died in Ypres aged just 23 and I have his and my grans picture in my lounge. I have put it on here under the the old photos under the namne of Holland.
