Taken in the Vicarage front garden in 1937 the photograph shows a float with giant coins of the time and included in shot are Brenda Simm (Brenda Bullough), E Gregory, Albert(?)Taylor, Marion Coupe and Phyllis Anderton. Brenda married Bob Bullough who had a sewing machine shop in Pemberton I think and she lived next door to my Grandparents Florence and Jack Critchley in Golborne St Scholes and she mated with my mother Doreen Hankin (Nee Critchley). If anyone can provide further information it would be appreciated.

John Alan - was the surname of Brenda Simm's husband not Bullock?
There has been a R.Bullock and Sons sewing machine business down at Newtown for years.

Ronnie White appears on a number of your previous submitted photos,and his sister Muriel ?? I think was the one who married Bob Bullock

AB is correct. It was Muriel, mu Auntie, who married Bob Bullock.

Thanks for the info. It was Bullock but pronounced as Bullough I think. I know Brenda Simm did marry a Bullock. Was it Wilf? Mum's passed o so I can't ask her.

That's right, Brenda married Wilf Bullock. I've always known the surname to be pronounced Bullock not Bullough.
