How times change! St Catharine's Church Choir taken in 1946. Included are: Mr Ellis - Vicar, Mr McCorkindale - Curate, Dorothy Wilding, George Rudd - verger, Florence Brown, Jean Beesley, Florence Sharrock, Jenny Stringman, Marie Stringman, Margery Benfold, Bert Laithwaite, Percy Pend;ebury - Organist, Mr Higham, Ken Burgess, Joan Fairhurst, Derek Higham, Ruth Summers, Ron Clements, Maureen Glover, Ted Traynor, Gertrude Hopper, Lillian Lowe.

It is just possible to see the slight lean at the body of the church with the front elevation and tower caused by the sandy foundations.

Wow - Thanks to both you and Florence John. What a great surprise - that's my grand father (Edward Higham) in the centre of the front row, next to the vicar and my Dad (Derek Higham) in the centre of the back row. I've never seen this before but could that be my Mum (Audrey Higham - or Audrey Yates at that time) on the left of my dad, with the dark hair ? In 1946, my Dad would've been 19 and my Mum 14. They both attended St. Catharine's and met at about those ages so it's possible. If so, this is probably the first photo ever taken of them together !
