Carnival Queen and her retinue parade around the Rec with possibly girls from one of the Morris Dancing troup lining her route and watched by a section of the crowd. The background would seem to be showing the rear of the houses in Well St. Or it could be the bottom of Platt Lane. Perhaps someone can be more definitive.

The cottages behind the tannoy's are Thickness Row(Garden Row)at the bottom of Platt Lane. On the right(bungalow) is the corner of Platt Lane/Durham St.
