The inside front cover shows an advertisement for Woods Newsagents which was located on the main raod in Scholes in between Molyneux St and Mint Court. I remember the shop very well and it became Lloyds with my mate Malcome's dad Louie taking over the shop in the mid 1960s until it was demolished along with the rest of Scholes in the late 60s and early 70s.

I remember going to primary school (St Marie's ) with Johnny and Billy Woods who's parents had a newsagents shop in Standish....could it be the same family in this advert? Cheers!!
This was my grandfathers shop. Alan Woods. Florence my nana and children Graham (my dad) and Cynthia my aunt.
