The carnival was organised by the Church uniformed youth organisations including 5th Wigan BB, Girl Guides, Scouts and Brownies.
All the pages will I hope give the followers of Wiganworld an insight to the strength and capabilities of the youth at that time. It is a pity we can't replicate such events these days. All the pages will be included to give event details, people involved and advertisers of the time which is I am sure is interesting. Various relevant photographs will also be included. The programme and photographs were provided by Miss Joan Hesketh who was the Captain of the 5th Wigan Girl Guides and Brownies and a staunch St Catharine's regular for many years.
