The photo was taken maybe on a day out or prior to a match at the Golden Ball Hotel Pilling Lancs sometime around the late 50s or early 60s. Not sure if everyone on the photo belongs to St Catharine's or some of the locals are in shot. The photo includes George Mason, Jack Golding, Bill Stevenson, Eddie Whittaker and ? Valentine (dad of John who was in the BB with me and ? Rudd. Can anyone add further names and information?

George Rudd (front row, extreme right), St Catharine's verger and school caretaker, father of Eddie who taught me in his "first class" of 1952 at St Catharines. Eddie was 21years old at the time, he also played for Horwich RMI I believe, but sadly died relatively young.

I believe it is Jack Goulding not Golding as stated above.
