This was circa 1962/3 and in shot is me at rear, Brian Perry jnr and I think ? Charnock who lived in Platt Lane. The gable end belonged to the house in Caunce St and the back of the house shown would be in Stanley St. This would have been St Catharine's walking day as we are wearing white gloves. Harold Mercer, Alan Stretch, Graham Myers and Graham Kearns would probably be in the bugle section at this time.

Billy Charnock lived in Platt lane but I don't think he is in this photo.

Think tne other 1 is my late uncle bill smith his twin freddy played the drums
The boy in the front is myself Dennis Horrocks. I left Wigan to join the RAF in 1974. Left the UK to live in South Africa. Returned to the UK in 2000. Now living and working at Oxford University.
