L/Cpl E.S. Lee was from Up Holland and was awarded his Distinguished Conduct Medal when his Lewis Gun team was buried by shell fire and he extracated himself and aided the wounded.The award was gazetted on 17/09/17 so this picture c1917/1918
I am currently writing a book on 'Schooling and the Great War' and wonder whether it might be possible for me to use this fantastic photograph as one of the illustrations. I would of course fully acknowledge the source. many thanks in anticipation. Barry.
