Eric, the Platt Bridge photos you have posted are simply magic! You even have Droney's!

These pics bring back memories of when I was a lad starting my first job as apprentice mechanic at Bickershaw Lane Garage. I'd get the bus from Lower Ince to Platt Bridge. Bus fare was a tanner. Doesn't sound much but my wage was only two pounds a week!

Excellent set of pics Eric. Great to see Droneys, went there a few times and remember my mam taking me there for a shirt for a family wedding, it was a bit big for me and she pinned up the sleeves under my jacket :)

Great Pic Eric, been looking for a picture of Droney's for ages The Manager, William Rosbottom was my Father's Brother, will send it to their long lost Brother's Granddaughter in America, she will be thrilled.

My Uncle George used to say thing like 'if yon mon is a (insert whatever) I will show me ar*e in Droney's window!'

Fred, I am glad you got to see this, it is brilliant. It is these walking day photographs that are the little gems on here, because of what is behind the subject. Although, it is also good to see the walking day shots as well.
