Advert for O.G. Rushton Grocers. The building, since, has been used for various things. Gas Showrooms and at present offices for Wigan Metro. At least Wigan Council haven't knocked it down... YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bet that they would knock it down if given half a chance. It has not stopped them ruining Wigan up to now. I remember Station Road Multi Storey Car Park being built, now it's gone. Also Wigan International Pool soon to go, and the Police Station - Harrogate street. Must have cost us ratepayers a fortune.

I used to ride an order bike for Rushton's shop on the corner of Mesnes Street. I used to collect deliveries of bread from this building. (1952) I seem to remember that Pendleburys( ie Debenhams) used it when they had a fire in Standishgate.
