This picture of my Dad Ken Orrell matches the one of JONNY ATKINSON in post

in that the cups look the same in both pics, so that would suggest the Rushton and Blundell cups were still being competed for in the 1950s.
Obviously these were not for keeps and the cup in the Jonny Atkinson pic clearly shows small shields of previous winners, although I would not think there was space by then! But, my Dad did get silver plated cups to keep.
I wonder what competition the cups were for, and where the cups are now, are they still competed for?
Any info/pics gratefully received.

Any relation to Roy Orrell, ex Wigan police officer and water polo player in the late 1950’s?
AUBREY - not to my knowledge, Ken's Orrell father was Tom whose extended family were mostly from Ince.
