William Liptrot [marked!] "Autumn Tints"-mid,1930s. There's a post war reunion photo,-but sadly "Bill" was lost on Sicily in 1943.

Tom Hughes, seated centre. The Autumn Tints was, and is still, a cycling club for veteran cyclists (Age 50+ I think).
Looks like this is a meeting of them with the younger Wigan Wheelers.

their clubhouse used to be at the top of moorfield street when i was a boy in the 50's

My Grandfather & My Mother were members of the Wigan Wheelers & my Grandad also a member of the autum Tints, My grandad passed away in1934 so i never knew him, When i left school in 1951 tom Hughes bike shop was in Wallgate & my mother took me for my first bike ,a Northern Star Tom Hughes own make, He gave it to me as a present, never forget that bike,

Tom Hughes is mentioned in my great grandad's memorial service in 1931, Amos Sugden. Tom cycled to Nelson for the event from Wigan "direct from his work in the pit, and who had to hurry back for the night shift".! What fit people they were then!!
