A couple Of very good friends of mine are on here. Also, some very good, talented rugby players. I can name them, however if you recognise anyone, feel free to have a go!
If Wigvet see's this, I'm sure he'll know a few!
6th and 7th from left, back row, Malc Swann and Dennis Ramsdale
Wigvet – some bad hairstyles there but some top players
Through the hazy split ends I see - Ronnie Dootson, Martin McLoughlin, Keith Gaskell, Mick Rennox, Adrian Foster (with pendant) that Alan Derbyshire & Mick Wilding??
Shutters on the windows on the building behind would suggest that they are on tour in France.
Spot on, Wigvet. You are correct with all the names, so far. My good friend, Ronnie Dootson
I'm surprised though you have not recognised my other very good friend (not Billy Green he was a footballer!)You know the guy well. Clue, he has done a few after dinner speeches!
Well spotted there Elvis,...oh wait...doesn't the heading say ' Team Photo Taken In Albi, France ?...not to worry. By the way Elvis, there's a guy works in Earle St chippy that claims he's Elvis. That wouldn't be you by any chance would it mate ?
should have gone with my initial instinct Ian - the 'Peter Pan' of Springfield himself..... Mr Sweeney
Correct, Wigvet. 3rd from the right, front row.
It's his photo!
The player extreme right back row, signed pro for Wigan.
As did the player second from left, front row ( holding the ball).
The player second left front row with the ball is Dave ??, went to Tommy More school with Mick Rennox and Darby.
Ian, Is that Mossy next to Glen?
The player holding the ball, is it Dave Wash?
Yes it is Dave Walsh with the ball.
No Tuddy, it's not Mossy. But he played in the same position!
A hooker then?
Martin Sivori? John Rigby lad
Yes he was a hooker, Ste. And a good one at that! He signed pro, but not for Wigan.
Correct, Wigvet. It is Martin Sivori.
Ian - Martin Sivori was on Wigan's books 1976-79 playing 11 games in first team - and I seem to recollect he was a winger....never had Mossy's pace though!
Wigvet.
Mossy never even had his own pace!
Our two ( Springfield props )Alan Pye and Frank Gaskell were yards quicker than him! Joking apart, he was a good hooker though. I'm sure he must have mentioned to you " I've played for Fulham and my props were Ian Van Bellen, Harry Beverley and Tony Gourley! And captain was Reggie Bowden" I'll give Mossy his due, he is up there with the best of ex Springfield hookers, John Waterworth, Alan Butler, Jeff Slevin and Steve Moylan!
Wires crossed here, Wigvet.
I was replying to two people in one post.
Ste ( Tuddy ) is a friend of mine. "The Mossy hooker" answer was aimed at him!
You are spot on with Martin Sivori. He was a winger.
Mossy could talk the ball out of the scrum! Another question, did Fossy ever sign for wigan?
Tuddy, Fozzy signed for Wigan in 1977 and played 14 games for them.
Yes, Ste. He did.
some good hookers named there Ian - great lads all
Wigvet.
From the horses ( Glenns ) mouth! He emailed me this I just copied and pasted it
