I know it was the first RL final held at Wembley and the score was 13-2 to Wigan.

Those coppers look like something out of a Monty Python sketch...Hope they weren't involved in the Battle of Enfield Street...
Looks like the constabulary had enjoyed a great away- day at Wembley. Looking at the Divisional letters following the collar numbers, these men were drawn together from all police divisions in the Metropolitan Police for duty at the match Would not be surprised if a few of them are expat northerners who managed to get themselves onto the duty roster.
Thank you John, and Eric for your input. It was obvious that it wasn't Wigan Borough officers', with the collar numbers displayed on their tunics
Thanks for posting the photo, Albert. It's an interesting picture. Jarvo says they look like Monty Python policemen, They're relaxed and smiling here but they look like they'd know how to deal with any trouble makers.
