Taken at Standish Conservative Club bowling green.
Back row, left to right, Joe Young, Ken Somers, Simeon Hough, myself, Roy Grice, Barry Dobson, Cliff Grass, Dave Scott.
Front row, left to right, Ron Kenyon, Jack Ainsworth, Cyril Doorbar, Len Jones, Arthur Powdrill ( ex traffic warden) and Dave Woods.
Just Ken Somers, Dave Scott and myself were ex Wigan Borough, the remainder Lancs. Constabulary.
Unfortunately at least 7 have now passed away, R.I.P.

Sorry,
My mistake on the back row Roy Grice is next to Simeon Hough, I am between Roy Grice and Barry Dobson

When coppers looked like coppers, can't tell the difference between them and the criminals these days with their shaved heads and pumped bodies

Dave Stott, not Scott. Back row, now no longer with us, passed away around 10 yrs ago.

Very good, and clear photograph Aubrey. I only served with Ken Somers, and yourself.

Dave,
Thanks I didn't check the text before submitting my entry.

Dave Allen: Were you a member of the Police Force and with an interest in attending car boot sales? Your name and obvious familiarity with Mr Stott suggest to me that you could be. If you are, then maybe you can recall buying a pair of glass candle holders from my stall at one of the many sales held at the former home of Pemberton Caravans, how you kindly introduced yourself as a serving Police Officer and, also, how you were made-up with your purchase. That would have been about fifteen years ago, but happy customers reverberate. Regards.

As far as you are aware Aubrey, how many Wigan Borough officers' are still with us?. Just the numbers will suffice. Thank you.

Albert,
A list of those surviving is en-route to you, approx. 60

Sad to see so many coppers who are now deceased. At least people remember who they where.
