great shot - I would say that would be to the right of the 'Hen-Pen'
Just look at the famous people there too. Albert Steptoe bottom left, Rolf Harris bottom centre and Gary Glitter next to the lad with the scarf and pointing.
If i didn't know better, i would say that the lad right of centre was taking a selfie.
And not a replica shirt in sight..Saturday afternoon ,3 pm kick off. Home one week away the next, not when TV wanted to kick off.Thosoe were the days.
Great photo of a bygone age. Notice how many are smiling! It's obviously a winter's day, too, judging by the overcoats. Brings back many happy memories. I can't see any, but I bet the air was filled with the smell of pipesmoke!
Early to mid sixties? Not a clempt face in sight. Just a few years after 'You've never had it so good'. Jobs plentiful and good pubs and chippies abound. Happy days.
When Rugby League was a proper game. Started with the 'ENTRY OF THE GLADIATORS' Why do they not play that now as the teams enter the field? I suppose to the people who run the club now it's OLD FASHIONED... I call it TRADITION
Wiganer, agree with your comments, I go to every home match and still miss The March of The Gladiater's .Has Sky got ought to do with not playing it as the Team's come out ?
good photo, the man bang in the middle is Graham Ridgeway and to his left his dad Bill Ridgeway
Anybody remember the bloke who used to. Sell chocblocks?his nickname was "only one left" he would have one in his hand ,and a bagful under his arm.
Yes a tall thin bloke black hair and a pencil moustache, short white overall
And just look how many are wearing a collar and tie. How standards have slipped almost everyone is scruffy these days.Even the police don't wear a tie anymore and in the Queens uniform. And this was for just a rugby match.
