If memory serves me right, this was the year I was at Wigan Fair on the Market Square right at the top of the Big Wheel when the team coach came down Market Street. I was waving like a maniac!

Yes Bill it is an Unsworths coach. I remember it coming past my granddas pub the Bird ith Hand 9 Ormskirk Raod Newtown had a great view from an upstairs room facing the road. My late dad went but to Wembley w=but wouldn't take me he said I was too young. I was,however, I was at Wembley 12 months later when they beat Hull in the final. I was in the same window when they brought the cup back again which was usually on the monday following the final.

Hi Anne. I don't think that's Frankie Parr at the back. He hadn't signed for Wigan then. I think it might be Norman Cherrington.

I recall all the years ago when my father took me to nearly every rugby match away on Unsworths coaches,Also has your first writer commented Bill Bretherton was a cousin too god bless him ,R.I.P. BILLXXXX
