Good to see the great Jack Carrington advertised in the top right hand corner...Great shop that was.

Jarvo - I'll bet it was Jack Carrington who first got you kitted out in The Wolves strip all those years ago. The Old Gold has always been a bit confusing to me though as todays strip seems dazzling when compared with the various sombre shades that are printed on my Chix Footballers cards ie Peter Broadbent, and I'm left wondering if the 'powers that be' may have tinkered with it over the years (you know what 'blazers' are like). I remember a George Best interview in which he told that he and some of his friends sometimes watched The Busby Babes and that the Old Gold strip also created a favourable impression on him - it seems quite likely they watched The Wolves during their heyday. Thanks.

Phil: You're almost correct. But it was from Oliver Sommers that I got my first Wolves socks. It was later that Jack added to my kit, and during the intervening years I bought numerous stuff from him. In 1968, when Wolves began wearing gold nylon taff shorts, I wrote directly to Bukta asking if they were available; I promptly received a pair and was the first lad in my school to wear them...And the last... Cheers!

The goalkeeper would be Jack Arkwright who later played rugby for Warrington.
