Legendary prop forward Geoff 'Piggy' Fletcher on his farm in St. Helens.
He played for Wigan from 1969 to 1974.
Sorry about the heading mistake on the previous picture of Geoff. I suppose if he had played for Wigan Athletic he would have been in the ilk of Latics legend Harry Lyon.
As Alan H states Piggy Fletcher wore a toupee which he used to hang on his peg in the dressing room before he went out to play. Team-mate, John Whittle, also wore a wig and centre, Bill Ashurst, and mates used to tie them to pieces of string and pull them around the floor.

This photo looks very much superimposed/not genuine. Has the man and the pig been added to an original background?

Garry There was only one thing not genuine about Geoff Fletcher and that was his hair.

Definitely photoshopped. Not done very well at that.

You are half right Garry. On my original picture Geoff was on the extreme right of the scene so I moved him to the centre to suit the format of the picture....the wonders of photoshop. It reminds me of the early days in the job when, before the days of motorwind and autofocus cameras, we would cover a football match and dash back to the office to print pictures for the Football Pink. Some of the time the ball would be missing off a photograph that we wanted to use so we would cut out a ball from another photo with scissors and stick it on with glue. The published picture would look like the ball was a 50p piece because of the hurried ragged cutting.

Sorry B my photoshop skills are obviously lacking, nearly as bad as my ball sticking efforts.
