Hi John, cheap meals when Tommy was on the till, whatever you had it all cost the same. Cant remember what his favourite request was, either, ''Ge us a tanner'' OR ''ge us a bob''
A top bloke Tommy,he wasn't skinny with the chips either,so wherever Tommy was we got a good deal.
Is Rod Bradshaw who played at Orrell Tommy's brother?
No Barry, Tommy was Rods father.
Played at Orrell with Rod in the late 50s and 60s, aggressive little scrum half. Haven't seen him for 40 years, is he still alive.
Yes tommys son rod is still alive , he played at orrell in the seventys , I was out drinking with him before Christmas great lad , he also has a brother Lyndsey
Sorry Geoff you're right getting Rod mixed up with Norman Flairclough, similar players but Norman a bit faster.
See Rod every Wednesday with his two daughters Val and Lucy at Gala bingo.
Rod is alive and kicking, goes line dancing every thurs in Platt Bridge.
Yes i have seen him there ,but it was hard to see it was him in that long dress and blonde wig ,
Did Rod play prop forward at Orrell ,I seem to remember the name .
No ,he did not play at Orrell ,but would hang around the changing rooms alot i recall ...funny bloke
I always thought he was a bit of a bully , with the younger lads .
Would like to come to Rods defence here, alright he likes to dress up now and again, no law against that. As for being a bully that's over since he sorted out the drink problem.
I think Rod is still drinking ,i spotted him in canal st Manchester ,with some other blokes they all looked pretty drunk to me .Rod had a big ladder in his tights and his mascara had all run .
I saw Rod getting off the train in Manchester and I'm sorry to say l ignored him/her.
