Following on from the programme of the first game, this is a photo of the Latics team that played Newcastle in the FA Cup replay in 1954. I have added colour to it.

Gordon Banks, who played left half for Wigan, worked at same firm, Walker Bros., as myself. In July 1954 I bought his Royal Enfield 350cc motorbike and thus was the start of my motoring.

Correction to my comment yesterday; It was Gordon Smith`s motorbike I bought - he also played at half back for Wigan Athletic.

Great photo George (even with colourising!)Not seen this one before. Captures a great moment in Latics' history, especially with the new Phoenix Stand just starting construction behind.
