I played in this league for Platt Bridge Holy Family and for the Federation against Bolton. We went to Bolton in a coach and it was parked close to the field. I cleared a ball into touch and it went through the coach side window. Holy Family went all season and lost only one mach against Wigan Boys club away. We only had half the regular team playing that match. Wigan Boys club field was shocking it was next to the bone works the smell was awfull. There was more grass on the m6 motorway than that ground.

John Connaughton whose name appears was the Man Utd reserve goalkeeper at the time of Law, Best and Charlton. I dated his sister Vivien!
Another Wigan lad who played for Utd was Dave Gaskell from Orrell!
