In the early 1950's, as a 10 year old Boys Brigade member, I think we played a football match against "Stubshaw Cross" but I wonder if my memory is just getting too old to remember things accurately. I do know we were soundly thrashed.

Are you sure that isn't Stubshaw cross labour club that played on the park,then changed there name to Stubshaw cross rovers when they moved down to Edge green street ground

Didn't Freddy Miller go on to play for Southport in the old fourth division??? He came and put us thru our paces at Stubshaw Cross Boys club in 1954/5
