That's haunting Maureen....what a lot of talent we have on Wigan World!

A little risqué perhaps Maureen but none the less quite beautiful and well composed in its serenity.

A lot of atmosphere too in the painting Maureen. Is it oil or acrylic? . I think oil has a nice finish but takes ages to dry. Well done.

Thank you everyone, it is a copy I did of Jack Vettrianos, I did a few of his but have since given them to friends
Now Colin he was risqué.. he didn’t get recognised as an artist because of it, I wonder if he’s been acknowledged since….

A friend in our Art group has just done a copy of Jack Vettrianos’s painting and that is RISQUÉ. A girl pinned up against a wall. I daresay you have seen it Maureen? She’s had loads of offers to buy it.

Veronica, yes I’ve always painted in oils ,shading always looks much nicer than Acrylics but as you say oils take ages to dry and I like to varnish them when they’re fully dry..it seems to bring the painting to life…. You should put some of yours on here Veronica.

It would be great if anyone who has a talent displayed it on here.. be it knitting, crocheting ..pottery making etc,it would be our own thread with no argu bargy.

Is that you Maureen suggesting another thread? One never knows these days who’s who. By the way I always knit in Winter. I have knitted 7 jumpers and 5 Waistcoates over winter of ‘ 22 and last Winter. I think they will last me until I ‘shuffle off this mortal coil’’…in fact I might knit a coil I don’t think I have ever knitted one of them!

Rich,the hobbies & books thread is mainly about gardening,I have used it a few times re queries on certain plants..it would be nice to have just a single thread on art of any kind etc...and thank you very much on your comment.

Painting is a hobby, Maureen. So it fits the criteria for hobbies and books. Go for it!
Someone started a thread on there about model railways.
Although Im not a railway enthusiast by any means I really enjoyed watching the progress of the model being built.

Rich I used to watch that and enjoyed it but the man that was so talented passed away.. it was so sad… someone with so much talent.
