Married Margaret Higham, and became Vice president of the Independent methodist Church on greenhough street (Thin man Standing). Old tintype photo probably around 1900? unsure where it was taken, maybe a pit head is in the background?

Adrian - all the group are in a rowing skiff on a boating lake which I think may be the Marine Lake, Southport.
At the time the photo was taken, there was a giant water chute at the end of the lake, which could be the structure resembling a pit head gear.

Hi Mike, thanks for your comment, my Mum thought it might be the boating lake at Southport as well but wasn't sure. Thank you so much for your comment.

Given the apparent age of the photograph, I would think that it was taken in a studio - with the rowing boat as a prop. The structure in the background looks as if it might be a diving tower at a swimming pool.
