Another photo of My Nan’s sister, Margaret (aka Molly) Bradshaw on what appears to be her wedding day. Although born and raised in Wigan, this chap was from down south, maybe London.

What a lovely photo, I love Molly's outfit.

I just knew you would like the outfit Irene, you can't beat the authentic and wouldn't it have been nice to see it in colour.

Irene, How would best describe the tilt of Molly's hat? I'd considered 'jaunty', but it doesn't seem to fit the occasion - no doubt there'd have been a party later, though.

Coquettish?

Yes, Veronica, but there is something special about black and white too. Philip G, the hat IS at a jaunty angle and looks perfect! I like trilby styles myself and ladies wore them at an angle. I have an original 1940s lady's trilby, made in Paris, quite fragile now but I love it. When I bought it I was prattling to Peter about the pheasant feathers and artificial cherries I could adorn it with at home and the lady seller thumped on the counter and said "DON'T put ANYTHING on that hat!", She was like a headmistress! Anyway, when I got home I put the hat on, (at an angle), and held up the feathers and cherries next to it and realised she was right! The smartness of it is in its simplicity.

Thanks Irene, … and jaunty angle it shall be. I must say, I like your dreamy consideration for feathers and berries. Coquettish tilts nicely, too.
