So my great great grandfathers were William Causey (a colliery fireman), and Washington Hargreaves (a pawnbroker).
Washington married Margaret Waites in 1876. William married Alice (Thompson, I think).
Washington and Margaret had Ada (my great grandmother), born on Aug 20 1876.
William and Alice had George (my great grandfather), on Feb 14 1875. They also had 6 other children, born to them at Scholefield Lane, Wigan
James (1868); William (1973); Moses (1877); Samuel (1884); Lily (1887); Albert Ewan (1890).
George married Ada Hargreaves when he was 24, on 1 Jan 1900 at St George, Wigan, Lancashire, England. Ada was 23 yrs and she lived at 63 Standishgate. George’s profession is listed in 1900 as Pawnbroker, Bachelor, Schofield Lane - but in 1907 his profession changed to jeweller, then later, an “antiques dealer”
Amongst their children was Hilda Nancy, my grandmother, and George Causey, Wigan's Civil Engineer..
Oh wow! Family! Elizabeth Causey 1839 was mt Great Grandmother. She married John Gilmour.

Hello! I am looking to track some family history. My Great great Grandfather was Thomas Causey, born in Barnsley, Yorks, England January 1, 1878. He served in the Boer War and later immigrated to Canada, Southern Alberta, in 1906. He was married to Elizabeth Wilson in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada on March 31, 1914. Elizabeth was born March 30, 1882 in Glasgow, Scotland. I know Thomas had 2 sister who were still alive in Wigan, Lancs at the time of Thomas’s death in 1947. I do not know their names or his parents’ names - this is the information I’m hoping to uncover. Is there a possibility the family you have detailed above could be a relation to my great great grandfather?
