My late father would have been 100 on 23/10/2019. Here is a copy of my parents' wedding photo from Valentine's Day 1945. Understated dress as there was still a war on. My father served in the Navy on HMS Asturias and HMS Offa during the war and later worked at Springs Branch until the late '60's.

She still looks a beautiful girl ... A sign of the utilitarian times that existed. Many girls got married in a 'costume/suit' I know my mother did.

Difficult & different times times then & people had to make the best of it all. A handmade costume....I suppose the material would have been bought on saved coupons & worn for best time & time again. Nice to have a photo of your parents Wedding Day Philip....I havent one of my parents...long story.

It's hard to think of your parents having a life before marriage and family..
Being young and carefree, especially if the war was on... But they must have had! :o)

Philip glad to hear you are well . It would be interesting to see the photograph you mention the date was 12th of August 1967.
