Could you tell me if the Fort family was connected to Abram at all, and do you know the lady's first name, please?

Comments by winnie, 12th January 2018
Florence Beatrice Lowe was born in January 1887 in Lower Ince

Is that who the lady is, Winnie?

As previous comment this is my grandmother with my dad (Edwin) and Uncle Jack his twin brother. They both worked at Heinz before their early deaths in their 50's in the late 70's.

Comments by Roy, 13th January 2018
Ed, i knew them very well, i worked with them at Heinz.

Comments by Roy, 13th January 2018
Ed, your dad ended up in Jersey, am I right or wrong ?

Comments by Bob Talbot, 13th January 2018  aardvaarkcreative@gmail.com
Yes that is my grandmother Florence Beatrice Lowe ("Beaty") with the twins, John Ormrod Fort ("Jack") and Edwin Norman Fort. The other photo is my mother, Florence Esther Talbot ("Effie") (nee Fort) with the twins. My grandfather, John Holden Fort was killed in a pit accident I think soon after these pictures were taken, leaving Florence Beatrice to bring up three children on her own, with very little money since the pit owners decided the fault for her husband's death was entirely his, not theirs, and so paid no compensation or pension.

Where did your Grandad originate from, Bob. please? It is a beautiful photo.

Comments by John Fort, 13th January 2018
Ed, what was the origin of the photos. They look like a professional photographers work. Could the "Roy" who posted a comment be Roy Killinger?

Comments by Veronica, 13th January 2018
Even though the babies are wearing dresses (which was the norm then) you can still see .they are baby boys! How sad for that poor mum bringing her children up on her own without the aid of a pension from the death of her husband. Those were truly terrible poor times.

Is it certain that John Holden Fort was actually BORN at 300, Woodhouse Lane, or that he just lived at that address when the census was taken? If that is the case, does anyone know where he was actually born?
