Can see where you get your good looks from Veronica. He has a very modern look to him considering the age of the photo.
I think he might have won a bet on the horses GW to be smiling like he is! I'd love to know who the other chap is - he could be related I don't know.
Sure enough, you're a dead-ringer for your Dad, Veronica ('dead-ringer' being far removed from Horse Racing parlance). Had your Dad ever been a member of a Sports Section? He's shown here as having the bearing of a Dart Thrower; his friend's white scarf a sign of the times. Thanks.
No I don't think he played darts Philip . He did like the gee gees though! He once asked me to take a bet for him in later years when he wasn't well - but that was one thing I wouldn't do! I didn't like the idea of going in a betting shop!!! Awful aren't I?
So your Dad liked a bet, did he - Hear, hear! I'm reminded of a TV documentary that set out to discover why people choose to gamble, and I found it surprising when the panel of experts had put forward 'the fear of losing', as being one of the reasons why people have a dabble. 'Mighty' are the Brave.
I know there was plenty grumbling when he lost Philip! Mind you there was bookies on every street before betting shops came about. He always put his army number at the bottom of the slip- I can still remember it- 6377! The last 4 figures!
I think your terry is spits of your dad on this one veronica ?.
