Lovely photo and it takes me back to those days although I would have been on the Higher Ince gay trips. Just looking at the wall at the back and wondering if this was Blackpool. I can't think of anywhere along Southport sea front that had a wall so high.
Wren,as you crossed bridge over Marina we always sat /played on right hand side near were Funfair used to be.Cant remember name of Funfair.
Wren,if you look on photo bellow ( Cousins) were our Susan and our Irene are standing is were the Funfair was the wall is to the right of them. Ps did you press the wrong button when you put Higher Ince gay trips..? Just asking.
I stand corrected. Yes it was a typo but I think one or two that went on the trips turned out to be lol. I wish I was 7yrs old and going on those trips again. Wonderful times
Wren,great day out only holiday all year.Pop and crisp in club,March up Manley St Mounted Police Officer in lead.Steam train to Southport.Fish Chips Peas Bread And Butter Mug of Tea in Cafe top of Lord St.10/- spending money for each kid.then let loose but not to loose..Used to save some of my 10/- to buy a Jim Bowie Knife.from a Shop on Lord St..Dad used to search me on way home every time.Always found it and threw it through Window.Never once got one back to Spring View.But always had a great Day out.O to go back in time,if only we could.
Bet your dad could read you like a book Jimmy regarding the knife! He was a wise man.
