A rather large slide to the left of where these Boys are setting up for cricket too. They wouldn't dream of putting a slide so big in a park these days

I have a picture of that slide somewhere. I'll upload it when I find it.

The lad stood near the bike is looking in the direction of where there was a small roundabout which was the left of the slide. Also 2 football pitches which ran away from the park in the opposite direction to the way they do today. Great pictures these Ken, you wouldn't know who these lads are would you ?

Just putting in the first goal post, or where to bowl from?

Don't know them. It was just one of those opportunities when I had the camera. The holes in the shoes and number 8 taped on the back make it. Hope his thumb survived!

I've had a good look at this picture and I think I know the names of the 4 lads in this photo !

From left to right, I think. Near the bicycle Phillip Martindale. Stood supervising Ken Charnock. Hitting the stick with the rock Shaun Norris and holding the stick, Stephen Norris.

It really had a thing for the swings. Once it got hold, it wouldn't let go
