Lizzie. I was rubbing my hands. I had just,already left school. I soon realized what great days I had left behind me. Especially when at the far end of the Maypole Colliery, working a pan engine, on a two foot seam.

My uncle worked at maypole colliery also my cousin,wondered if you knew them,both named Tommy Parkinson's

Eileen. Knew a lot of the lads at the Maypole, mostly only by their first names. It also depended which pit they worked down. I cannot recollect the name of your relation, although we are talking of over sixty years ago. I left in 1953, and joined the R.A.F.
