My maternal grandparents of Bolton Street, Wigan.
Edward Davies b 1875, Margaret Ann Davies b 1881
They lived firstly at No 31 then No 36 where granddad ran his little shop from the front room.

Good photograph,my great grandmother lived in Bolton St.around the same time. Her name was Brown and then Nolan. She was into her 90's when she died. Her house was halfway down on the left hand side just a few houses from the pub where she went for a Guinness or three most nights.

Tommy, it would be great if someone had a snapshot of the old Bolton St, my mother was born at No36 August 1912 her name was Ethel, she had a elder sister called Betty a younger brother who I'm named after - Walter and a younger brother still named Eddie all gone now sadly. Any info on the people who lived in the street I would love to see.I'll look out for your pic, thanks Tommy.

Hi everyone, it was Bolton St, Scholes, (not Ince) Grandad and Grandmother lived in Bolton St all their married life. grandad I always believed, lost his leg in a mining accident and the compensation money allowed him to buy a little shop at No36 Bolton St.

Hi Zoe, Edward was my mothers dad, my granddad, I don't remember ever there being a mention of a Thomas Davies. I think that he had three sisters and two brothers if memory serves me well, one of his brothers went to live in USA I understand.
