Oh my days... he is beautiful
So very very said to hear Jimmy is no longer with us. He was an incredible man. So protective of me when I was working at the Riverside at the tender age of 16. Will never forget him. RIP Jimmy xx
I worked for Jimmy as a building labourer straight after leaving school in 1983. He had a small building company with my dad called Metver Construction. ( METVER - METcalfe n DeVER ). Everyday was a laugh n Jimmy seemed to take a shine to me and took me under his wing. He used to treat me to an extra £5 which he would squeeze into my hand with his huge , vice grip hands. I later trained at his gym, which he run with another true gentleman Royce Banks. Really miss the Big Fella. A true Gent and Absolute Diamond. Xx . Gary Dever
Greatest man to ever walk the earth was my grandad
hi jack iwas proud to have jimmy as my best man i knew jimmy from ince national school when his dad ernie sometimes used to visit at playtime as he had been injured at work
Hi Jimmy, Just in from the gym.
A good heavy session at Royces, all the old lads were in , reminiscing, and as always you get a mention, we all had a good laugh about your one liners and your astute sense of timing and humour.
God Bless big fella.

I was a gymnast and trained at Jimmys and one day he asked me to run up the centre of the gym and do somersault back flips and I was heading towards the equipment and he caught me mid air with my ankles...his sheer strength and quick thinking saved me!
