Another rare picture.
The house at the bottom of Bank Brow is long gone.
Lived in by a bit of a hermit? Burned down in a fire because it was full of newspapers. I would like some verification of that and the name of the old fella.
The woods at the back of the house where commonly known as the Bluebell Woods.

I remember that cottage burning down, my guess is that it would have been in the mid to late 1950s.

Remember the house burning down and the old man getting killed, it was in the papers at the time and would have been the mid 60s, perhaps about 1966.

His name was Mr Hickson, his family where from southport, they were well off and owned a music shop, this was a country retreat for the family and he ended up living there on his own. He kept sheet music an newspapers in the house an they caught fire.
