After seeing Jim Frodsham on the previous photo getting ready to swim the channel, Jim now thinks he's a lorry driver. This photo was taken about 1955/6 somewere around North Ashton.

Hi Janice, judging by the pavement and the fact there is no hedge bordering the field a likely place is Billinge Road, pointing towards Downall Green, between Birch Grove and the first bend going up towards Simms Lane End. This field always had corn growing in the 50's and 60's. I think it's now a playing field with a building.
