The historic value of the Hall was recognised in 2007 by being given Grade 2 Listed status. Whether this will, in the long run, save it from the fate of many other of Wigan's historic Halls and Houses remains to be seen.

It is really up to people like you David & people that care about heritage, to save these historic buildings.

There are 2 grades of GRADE 2 LISTED BUILDINGS.
Grade2* ' are particularly important buildings of more than special interest '

Grade2 ' are of special interest & warrant every effort to preserve them '

Don't let the planners forget that !

I know nothing about Westwood Hall, can you tell me where it is ?

Hi To the left of the house at the side is Westwood Hall Lodge/cottage were in 1985 the owners gave me a kitten Tigger he lived for over 21 years and gave my family lots of pleasure. If you still live there thank you

Both my brothers David and Joseph Hickey as teenagers used to do the gardening for the old lady who lived there, from what I remember they always came home tired.

Is this the same Westwood Hall that the Highwayman George Lyon was found guilty of "Robbing" ?

Sadly this beautiful building has now been burned down ???? and is now a dangerous building which could be demolished soon
