Ephraim's Fold, Aspull, year unknown. The street still exists today.

When where these buildings demolished? The 'street' may still exist today, but it's now a row of bijou bungalows. Wonderful views of Rivington etc. from there.

My Aunt and Uncle were one of the first to buy one of the bungalows as they were being built. They went on to emigrate to Australia in the 60s.

I pass the entrance quite often on my way down Scot lane - can anyone say who Ephraim was?

Was it named after Ephraim Stringer ??

My grandmother, Hannah Hulme (maiden name) lived here with her parents and sisters circa 1910-1920+ until her marriage whereby she moved to Bolton.
The Hulme family were related to the Southerns, who ran The Running Horses pub in Aspull.

My grandad lived at number 11 as a boy in the 1900's. He met his future wife Clarice Hargreaves from Blackrod later!
