I took this photo on the steps of the main entrance to the Wigan Technical and Mining College, of friends who, like myself, were students at the Wigan Art School, which occupied the top floor of the building, also occupied, if my memory serves me right, by the Painting and Decorating department.
The photo was taken around 1959-1960. The names to the best of my recollection are (left to right) :-
Malcolm Unsworth (best man at my wedding and like myself became a teacher), Roger? Hunt, Thomas Sutton and ___ ?
The first three were all art students. After this photo we all "retreated" across the road to the Bodega for a frothy coffee.

Great pic - looks like it could have been 1980!

Happy days! Remember my year there (c. 1963??) with Ed, Chas, Norman, Kath, Iris, etc. The secretary who 'enrolled' us and issued art materials later in the day doubled as the (very shapely) life model! Don't know who was redder, her or us...! Spent too many a break down in the Bodega, and remember sketch-days in Wigan park. After one year, moved to the smoke, now retired to France. Wonder how the rest of the year got on??

Hi Renaud, sorry I can't help with the names of your fellow colleagues at the time, I left in 1961 but I do very clearly remember the shapely model who doubled up as a secretary. She was Alice Orrell and would perhaps have been no more than a year older than us at the time, and yes she certainly made us blush at the time but we got to know her very well later and basically she was one of us, a very nice girl.
