The photo attached was taken in David Winstanley's back garden, No. 4 Cedar Grove, in 1950. The two girls are L-R, Pamela Heaton and Carol Winstanley. The lads are L-R, John Shepherd, David Winstanley and me, Lyndon Crompton.

Lyndon, I love it, talk about the " Little Rascals "....

I remember Pam Heaton and Carol Winstanley.

You bring back memories, Lyndon. I didn't realise that anyone else had a copy of this. It was taken so many years ago in our back garden. I'd love to see a present day version! The houses in the background were where Mary Corcoran lived on the left and the Smith girls on the right. Carol

Janet, It's good to see your name, it brings back happy memories of Leyland Green Road and in particular your house where your Roy and I spent many an hour.

Comment by: janet on 11th March 2009 at 18:07

Hello Eric, not looked at this pic in a while, then saw your name. Funny you should have mentioned Roy, as I was talking to him just before I came on here. Are you the Eric that's working on the reunion? I live in the States and am coming over to visit in May, but unfortunately I arrive the week after the reunion, so sad, I would have loved to have been there.. Anyway I hope you are well, I will have to phone Roy again and tell him I have seen you on here..

Comment by: Eric Winstanley on 12th March 2009 at 09:42

Janet,
It's too bad you'll miss the actual Reunion, but the week after, the school is holding a fun packed week of different events. I'm not too sure what they are exactly, but the photos from the Reunion night will be on display.
When you next speak to Roy, tell him we celebrated the S & S football team's 40 years, last year and also, tell Paul that my daughter, Kerry was asking about him.

Hello Eric, I only arrive on Thurs the 14th, so I'll miss the events also. If only I would have known, I could have planned differently, but...Maybe you or Dougie or any of the other D/Gns that post on here would put some photos up for all us ex-pats from D/Gns to see. In all the photos posted, I haven't seen anyone who I was at school with. I will pass on your message to Roy. Wishing you All the Best Eric, I hope you all have a BLAST at the reunion and if you see anyone you think was from my time,{I left in 56}say hello from me, please..

Comment by: Eric Winstanley on 14th March 2009 at 18:05

Janet,
I went into school yesterday and told the Headmistress about
the message I put on the site and about your situation, she said that if you wanted to call in during your visit you are more than welcome.

Thanks Eric, that was so nice of you, I think though, I may be there, I am trying to change my flight to come over a week earlier. It means I give up my direct flight and have to change in Newark NJ, but....My brother Stephen is going and I've told him to get a ticket for me too, see you there.

Hi Jim, of course I remember you and your tales of Benny Dodd. I saw you at the reunion, when Mick didn't recognize his best man. Hope you are keeping well. I've not seen any of the lads for a while but I have been in touch with Stevie by e-mail.

Hi Judy! I do remember you. If I am not mistaken you were a Tracer along with Christine Mannering and Margaret Ashton. I was a trainee Civil Engineering Technician with Pete Ryan and Malcolm Trennel. Hope you are well, Best Wishes Lyndon.
