Hindley golf course in 1948 taken from a spot just past the clubhouse and in front of the farm that was at the side of it and looking back towards Ladies Lane and the reservoir.
We spent a lot of time playing on these golf links 1965 and all our games involved going home with golf balls. I don't think there is a way that you can do that on a golf course without getting into trouble. There's all kinds of special rules about finding lost treasure. Well, we weren't allowed in the brook and specially not in the Delph because it was too dangerous and full of sinking slutch (and it was too), so we were bound to end up golfballing.
I was in trouble every day.
