Thousands of tons of shale were removed from Ramsdales (where Pennington Flash is)and used to cap the old tip.It was then grassed over.The problem is that gas will be given off for many years.The gas as now been piped to a Flare to be burned off,the Flare is now working so it shouldnt be long before the area can be fully open.Fingers crossed!!
could you please tell me where and when the gas as been burnt off. this is 26-5-08 and the area is still closed to the public come on you elected councilers give us some honest answers. I live in hopes.

And its still burning !!! perhaps it should have been piped into the national grid.... makes you wonder whats been buried there
