The old Harrogate Well Cottage - Wigan's own Spa in the 18th c. It stood on present day Harrogate Street, near to where the old (derelict) Police Station presently stands.
Interesting in that all the old maps show the area as Harrowgate Fold or Harrowgate Field not Harrogate, I wonder how, when and why the name was changed to Harrogate Street which was built on that land?
