I suppose police business was conducted in the front room to the right of the front door with having three quarters of the bottom window panes painted out. The child peeping through the window looks interested in watching the camera, and they liked their house plants too with Aspidistras and others and trailing plants in the windows. What seems to be a leaking or blocked gutter is causing a lot of dampness running down the wall too.

I wonder if bobbies were trained to stand with their feet at 10 to 2.
A great photo of proper policemen of their time. They certainly wouldn’t stand the nonsense of today.
